To maintain safeguarding standards and ensure CRN operates responsibly, new age minimu

ms have been formalised across all departments. These requirements are designed to protect younger volunteers and ensure that higher-risk duties are performed by individuals legally permitted to handle them.

New Age Requirements

16+ required for:

• Executive

• Operations

• Internal Security

• Safeguarding

• Public Relations

• Human Resources

14+ allowed for:

• Internships

• Entry-level learning roles
  

Why this matters

Certain responsibilities involve exposure to sensitive information or decision-making that minors are not legally or ethically allowed to handle. These requirements align CRN with industry-standard safeguarding practices and ensure safe working conditions for all staff.

How CRN is responding

• All current roles are being re-aligned.

• Most members have temporarily been moved to Intern while restructuring is underway.

• New training pathways are being built to support younger members until they reach qualifying age.
