The Cybersecurity Response Network (CRN) is a dedicated community-driven organization committed to safeguarding online roleplay and gaming communities from cyber threats, harassment, and exploitation. We provide rapid, ethical, and confidential incident response services, empowering community leaders and members to maintain safe and welcoming environments.

Our Team

Corporate Oversight

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Description: Leads CRN's overall vision, direction, and partnerships. Oversees all divisions and sets corporate policy.

Notes: Has final authority on network operations, public releases, and division appointments.

Directorship

Director of Technology (DoT)

Description: Oversees all of CRN’s technological initiatives, systems development, and infrastructure. Ensures the smooth operation of platforms, automation tools, and defensive technologies. Works closely with the CTO and Senior Systems Engineers.

Reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Must maintain knowledge of cybersecurity standards, automation, and data protection compliance.
Often collaborates with the Director of Operations on technical-incident alignment.

Director of Operations (DoO)

Description: Leads CRN’s incident response and digital forensics efforts. Coordinates multi-division teams during digital crises, ensuring consistent communication and structured responses.

Reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer (COO).
Works closely with the CSO and Director of Internal Security on investigations.
Must demonstrate strong leadership and crisis management skills.

Director of Internal Security (DoIS)

Description: Maintains CRN’s internal integrity by leading audits, compliance checks, and internal investigations. Protects CRN from insider threats and data leaks.

Notes:

Reports directly to the Chief Security Officer (CSO).
Handles high-trust access and is responsible for ensuring confidentiality.
Works with the Director of Safeguarding on misconduct cases.

Director of Safeguarding (DoS)

Description: Maintains Oversees all safeguarding teams, ensuring community members remain safe, protected, and supported. Implements welfare protocols, investigations, and digital safety strategies.

Notes:

Reports directly to the Chief Safeguarding Officer (CSaO).
Must be trained in safeguarding practices, online behaviour management, and digital welfare.
Collaborates with the Director of Communications on awareness campaigns.

Director of Human Resources (DoHR)

Description: Manages CRN’s staff lifecycle - from recruitment and onboarding to development and welfare. Ensures a professional, safe, and growth-oriented working environment.

Handles performance reviews, training coordination, and staff relations.

Director of Communications (DoC)

Description: Leads CRN’s public image, ensuring transparency, professionalism, and accurate communication between CRN, the media, and partnered communities.

Reports directly to the Chief Communications Officer (CCO).
May liaise with community security teams and public relations officers.
Can delegate to Junior or Assistant-level staff for outreach and content creation.

Technical Division

Senior Systems Engineer (SSE)

Description: Leads the development and maintenance of CRN’s technological infrastructure. Designs secure systems, oversees technical operations, and mentors junior staff.

Reports to the Director of Technology (DoT).
Works closely with Cyber Defence and Infrastructure teams.
Requires excellent technical knowledge and reliability.

Intern

Assists staff under supervision, gaining practical experience.

Operations Division

Incident Response Lead (IRL)

Description: Commands CRN’s operational teams during active digital incidents. Coordinates responses, deploys investigators, and ensures rapid resolution with minimal risk.

Directs Digital Forensics and Threat Intelligence personnel.
Requires leadership, decisiveness, and strong communication under pressure.

Digital Forensic Investigator (DFI)

Description: Collects, preserves, and analyses digital evidence during incidents. Works closely with Internal Security to ensure data authenticity and compliance.

Notes:

Reports to the IRL and DoO.
Handles sensitive case material and must maintain strict confidentiality.
Works in cooperation with the Internal Security Division during investigations.

Incident Response Specialist (IRS)

Description: Acts as a bridge between intelligence collection and operational action. Ensures relevant information reaches the right teams fast during active incidents.

Notes:

Works under the Threat Intelligence Analyst and IRL.
Coordinates live feeds and threat updates for internal briefings.
Ideal for members training toward senior operational roles.

Junior Responder (JR)

Description: Entry-level support role assisting in data collection, logging, and communication during incidents. Learns CRN’s operational framework.

Notes:

Works under supervision of Crisis Response Coordinators or IRL.
Gains hands-on experience in digital safety and cyber incident handling.
Perfect training ground for promotion to Analyst or Forensics roles.

Internal Security Division

Chief Investigator (CI)

Description: Oversees all internal investigations within CRN, ensuring that policies, conduct, and data handling remain compliant. Leads the investigative team and reports directly to the Director of Internal Security.

Notes: Access to sensitive data logs and audit systems. Requires strict confidentiality clearance and neutrality in disputes.

Safeguarding Division

Safeguarding Supervisor (SS)

Description: Leads the Safeguarding Division and ensures all safeguarding policies, welfare protocols, and behavioural guidelines are properly enforced. Handles critical cases and liaises directly with the Director of Safeguarding.

Notes: Holds authority to suspend users or staff under investigation. Requires high emotional intelligence, discretion, and safeguarding certification. (Also known as "Safeguarding Lead")

Mental Health Liaison (MHL)

Description: Acts as CRN’s internal expert for psychological harm: assessing mental-health risk in safeguarding reports, providing crisis-informed support, and coordinating referrals to suitable mental-health resources. Works closely with the Safeguarding Lead and operations team to ensure that emotionally vulnerable users are treated appropriately and safely.

Human Resources Division

HR Manager (HRM)

Description: Leads the Human Resources Division, overseeing recruitment, training, and internal staff wellbeing. Works closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and ensures policies align with CRN’s ethical and legal standards.

Public Relations Division

Senior Communications Manager (SCM)

Description: Leads all public relations initiatives and oversees communication across CRN’s platforms. Develops public statements, press-style releases, and manages crisis communications when required.

Internship Programme

Intern (INT)

Description: An entry-level trainee role within CRN, designed to introduce members to the network’s operational systems, protocols, and responsibilities. Interns rotate through key divisions to gain practical understanding in cybersecurity, safeguarding, communications, and internal operations.

Notes:

Duration: 4–8 weeks (flexible)
Supervised by HR and assigned mentors from each division
Must complete the CRN Induction & Data Confidentiality Course
Required to maintain professional conduct, confidentiality, and reliability throughout
Successful interns may be offered permanent junior positions or staff invitations
