The Cybersecurity Response Network (CRN) is an independent safeguarding and community security organisation supporting online communities through reporting infrastructure, policy guidance, and risk response coordination.
We support communities through six core capabilities—from first response to long-term policy and compliance.
Structured intake and triage so every report is assessed and routed quickly.
Clear pathways so minors and at-risk cases reach the right people with strict access controls.
Guidance and support so communities can strengthen their own security posture.
Shared visibility across the network to spot patterns and reduce risk for everyone.
Help meeting regulatory and policy requirements with documentation and processes.
Redaction, hashing, and chain-of-custody practices so evidence stands up if escalated.
CRN works with Community servers, Network unions (e.g. GEN) and Independent communities to ensure a variety of servers are protected.
CRN operates under a strict safeguarding-first model.

CRN is not a company or law enforcement agency. We are an independent organisation focused on community security and safeguarding support.
Yes. CRN’s reporting and support services are free for communities and individuals who use our systems.
No organisation is perfect. CRN continually works to improve its processes, transparency, and support for communities.
Safeguarding cases are escalated to our Safeguarding Lead with strict access controls. Minors and at-risk cases are never exposed to harmful material or decision-making authority; all sensitive roles are age-restricted and access-controlled.
Our trained Operations Team aims to review every report within 24 hours and takes immediate action where needed to protect members and contain incidents.
You can report securely via crnsecure.com/report—anonymously or with contact details. Reports are triaged and routed to the appropriate team.
No. CRN supports and complements existing moderation; we do not replace a community’s own moderation team.
CRN follows data protection best practices and applicable requirements. We handle personal data with care and use it only for the purposes of incident response, safeguarding, and support.
CRN is run by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers committed to community safety and safeguarding standards.
Opportunities for involvement are advertised through our official channels. Age and role restrictions apply in line with our safeguarding policy.
